Mardi Gras Parade 2017

In 2017 the Sydney Convicts will again be taking part in the Mardi Gras Parade down Oxford Street. 

Tickets are strictly limited by Mardi Gras. To ensure fair availability, these tickets are open to people by invitation only. 

This year's entry will consist of three sections:

• Front section: fun rugby choreography in rugby gear (limited to 16 - must attend rehersal)
• Middle section: truck with lights, music and rugby players (limited to 6 + 2 drag)
• Back section: general walkers with flags 

Please specify which section you'd prefer to participate in. We will try out best to accomodate you. 

Full details will be released via Facebook in the coming days, other where's what we can tell you now:

• Meet at the NEW VENUE Castlereigh Boutique Hotel  from 4pm onwards. 
• Food and drink can be purchased. Parade wrist bands will be issued at the hotel to provide entry to the marshalling area and parade. 
• We will leave the hotel around 6.30pm for the marshalling area, marshalling area is locked down from 7pm - you wont be able to enter after this time. 
• We will be in College street,  in block G, section G2. Look for the Big Rugby Ball.
• Wear your new Convicts singlet, rugby shorts and socks - we want to look like a well oiled machine! If you don't have Convicts gear, make it navy rugby shorts or similar and NSW Rugby Socks - which you can get a Rebel for about $10
• Don't bring bags backpacks valuables etc - there is no where to store them. 
• There will be two club marshals this year -  follow their instructions, before, during and after the parade.
• Everyone needs to abide by Mardi Gras rules (please see below)
• Keep yourself nice and look out for your mates!

As per Mardi Gras Rules, no drugs or alcohol is allowed into the marshalling area and all participants must abide by the following:

· NO Firearms, Weapons or anything that looks similar

· NO Projectiles

· NO Fire, open flame, fireworks, flares, fire batons, fire breathing, sparklers, sparks, welding, hazardous & flammable goods

· NO Racist, sexist or homophobic material 

· NO Animals 

· NO Slander 

· NO Alcohol or drugs 

· NO Full frontal nudity - no genitalia

· NO un-approved sponsor signage
